A tale of 2 browsers - It takes maturity to lead.

Tell me who is ‘cool’ among browsers, Chrome and Firefox. Top is Chrome who leaves us in cold by telling about a missing plugin. Below is Firefox, who makes installing the missing plugin a breeze. Agreed, it is a Flash plugin. The necessary evil!

But don’t you think Chrome could be a little more responsible? Same thing happens when a pdf file is addressed. Firefox downloads it just like any other link. Chrome makes a true mess of it.

There is a value when the world says Google is a bunch of college goers using their 20% of company time to create something new. it helps to create very fast development out of a collective energy but the maturity and commitment to customers is low with Google. It is not the arrogance that is shown (like Apple) in Google but coder’s arrogance shows up in every of Google’s failure.

I believe facebook like pages are not liked any more by web publishers. A lot many sites used to get blocked in our firewall because of facebook.com/… Now no one seem to bother the firewall.

The cost of devil’s advocate

Today morning I wore a brand new trouser and my wife complained it was tight. She warned, “Don’t blame if you are humiliated in public”.

As soon as I reached office there was some power shortage and generator set was not made on. My assistant told me the generator went wrong and there may not be light today. We saw lights in the next 10 minutes.

This is the story of devil’s advocates.

We need to either calm them or calm ourselves in order to move ahead.

Want to drape a sari? There is an app for that.

Sari is a traditional, ethnic India wear exclusive to women. If you are new to Sari and wish to create a fashion statement by draping it, there is an app to help you.

Why is the furore for Apple’s subscription service?

I read a short story about Apple’s new subscription service here. And I see all the wind blowing from all the direction.

I remember when Apple announced Apps through iTunes. At that time, he announced the same thing. Nobody blinked any eye. Why? because the 30% cut was from the developers.

Now, when it is the same thing about the content, all our narcissist bloggers, newspapers (who sell stories rather than generating it) and everyone on the street (because they have a chance to rub the shoulders of the so called news breakers) is blowing their trumpets.

What was wrong in developer giving a substantial cut on iTunes? What is right in the new furore?
